The MushLume Cup Light Table Lamp pairs our hand-formed 9-inch mycelium cup shade with a steel base, custom brass hardware, and sustainably-sourced American hardwood accents — a study in natural materials meeting modern design. The shade is grown, not manufactured, from carbon-sequestering hemp and living mushroom mycelium. A one-of-a-kind accent lamp for a nightstand, workspace, or console, it arrives as a tool-free plug-in assembly with a 10-foot cord — no installation, no electrician. Bulbs are sold separately; a Tala LED is recommended and available as an add-on at checkout.

Material & Sustainability Specs

  • Primary substrate: Hemp hurd (industrial hemp) — approx. 75% of shade mass

  • Binder: Proprietary mycelium strain, grown in-studio — approx. 25% of shade mass

  • Free of: Formaldehyde, VOCs, halogenated flame retardants, plasticizers, PFAS, isocyanates

  • End of life: Fully biodegradable, rated home compostable

  • Carbon impact: Hemp substrate sequesters carbon into the soil before fabrication

 

Care Instructions

  • Dust gently with a soft brush or duster

  • Do not use liquids or cleaning sprays on the shade

  • Keep in dry, climate-controlled indoor environments

  • For kitchen or bathroom use, choose a painted finish to protect against moisture and grease

  • Natural mycelium shades will gradually take on a warmer, golden patina over time — this is expected and not a defect

 

Product FAQs

  • Yes. Although it is not a UL Listed fixture, it is assembled with all UL certified components and sold as a bespoke/custom luminaire with material tested to ASTM E84 Class A fire performance, with no off-gassing or VOCs.

  • Any E26 medium-base LED, 40W equivalent. We recommend Tala LED bulbs, available as an add-on at checkout.

  • Yes. Custom cord lengths different cord color are available. Email to inquire info@mushlumelighting.com

  • The natural mycelium finish will age to a warmer golden tone. Painted finishes maintain consistent color.

  • Yes, when used with a dimmable LED bulb. Dimmers are not included.
