Will the natural mycelium shade change color over time?

The color of the mycelium skin is naturally white. Over time it will age and take on a slightly more golden hue. To maintain a bright white exterior, select the white milk paint option or explore available limewash colors.

How long will a mycelium lampshade last?

MushLume's oldest lampshades are 10+ years old and still beautiful. Even though the material is biodegradable, as an indoor lighting application it is stable and inert and will bring many years of use.

How do I clean a mycelium lampshade?

Use a duster and gently brush the exterior shade. Do not use any liquids or cleaners.

What spaces are best for mycelium lighting?

MushLume lighting is rated for indoor use only. Dry, climate-controlled environments are best. For bathroom or kitchen applications, painted options are recommended to preserve the material from moisture and airborne grease.

Is the Stagger Chandelier safe for indoor use?

Yes. It is UL Listed and tested to ASTM E84 Class A fire performance, with no off-gassing or VOCs.

What bulbs does the Stagger Chandelier use?

Each shade takes an E26 medium-base LED, 5W (40W equivalent). Bulbs are not included, but Tala LED bulbs are available as an add-on at checkout. The 3-shade configuration uses three bulbs.

Can the drop lengths be staggered to different heights?

Yes. The staggered arrangement is the defining feature. Each shade is specified with an independent drop length, so the cascade can be tuned to your ceiling and space. Custom cord lengths up to 100 feet are available per shade.

What is the difference between the Stagger and Cluster chandeliers?

Both gather multiple Cup shades on one canopy. The Cluster groups the shades close together at a similar height; the Stagger hangs them at cascading, independently configurable drop lengths for a vertical, tiered composition.

Is the Stagger Chandelier dimmable?

Yes, when used with dimmable LED bulbs. A compatible dimmer is recommended but not included.

The MushLume Stagger Chandelier — 3 Shades is a multi-pendant fixture that hangs three hand-formed Cup lampshades at independent, cascading drop lengths for a staggered vertical composition — sculptural movement over a stairwell, entry, or the end of a dining table. Each shade is handcrafted from carbon-sequestering hemp and living mushroom mycelium — grown, not manufactured. Every drop is individually configurable, so the cascade can be tuned to your ceiling height and space. Available in two shade sizes and four hardware finishes, with configurable cord colors.
