The color of the mycelium skin is naturally white. Over time it will age and take on a slightly more golden hue. To maintain a bright white exterior, select the white milk paint option or explore available limewash colors.

How long will a mycelium lampshade last?

MushLume's oldest lampshades are 10+ years old and still beautiful. Even though the material is biodegradable, as an indoor lighting application it is stable and inert and will bring many years of use.

How do I clean a mycelium lampshade?

Use a duster and gently brush the exterior shade. Do not use any liquids or cleaners.

What spaces are best for mycelium lighting?

MushLume lighting is rated for indoor use only. Dry, climate-controlled environments are best. For bathroom or kitchen applications, painted options are recommended to preserve the material from moisture and airborne grease.

Is the Terrace Table Lamp UL listed?

The Terrace Table Lamp is a one-of-a-kind portable decorative luminaire, assembled from UL-listed and UL-recognized electrical components (lampholder, cord, plug, switch). It is not third-party listed as a finished assembly. For commercial installations requiring acceptance, MushLume can support project-specific NRTL field evaluation. Component certificates are available on request.

What bulb does the Terrace Table Lamp use?

A Tala Dim-to-Warm LED sphere bulb is included. For replacements, any E26 medium-base LED, 60W equivalent. A compatible dimmer is strongly recommended but not included.

Does it require any installation?

No. The Terrace Table Lamp is a free-standing portable lamp with a 10-foot cord, inline switch, and standard plug. Set it on any stable, level surface and plug it in. No electrician required.

Is the Terrace Table Lamp safe indoors?

Yes. The biocomposite is tested to ASTM E84 Class A fire performance (Flame Spread 15, Smoke Developed 15), with no off-gassing or VOCs. It is rated for indoor, dry-location use only.

Each lamp is individually grown as an art object, so no two are ever alike; finished diameter varies between 15.5 and 18 inches. A plug-in fixture with a 10-foot cord and inline switch, it sets on any stable surface — no installation, no electrician.
