Healthy Materials Lab, in collaboration with ICFF, is launching a dedicated Materials section at this year’s International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City. As part of The OASIS exhibition area, this curated showcase brings together leading manufacturers and makers working at the forefront of healthy, climate-positive design.
The exhibition will feature innovative materials and fabrication processes centered on regeneration, repair, reuse, and the reduction of toxins and carbon—alongside a focus on plant- and mineral-based solutions. Visitors can engage directly through interactive workshops and hands-on sessions that offer practical approaches to integrating these strategies into design practice.
In partnership with Metropolis, the program also includes a series of talks highlighting leaders advancing material health, sustainability, and regenerative design. Together, the exhibition and programming explore key strategies such as sourcing secondary byproducts, designing for reuse and repair, and working with biogenic materials—pointing toward a more circular and regenerative future for the built environment.
